Waiting list to reopen 16th March!

Hi everyone.

For those who have been asking, we plan to re-open our waiting list on Monday 16th March at 9am.  After this time we will be accepting names for the list by e-mail only to oldbawngymnastics@gmail.com with the following information:

Child’s name

Childs Date of Birth

Contact name

Contact phone number

Please do not send us on any names in advance of this date as we will only be taking names from 16th March.

Thanks!!

Waiting list still closed :-(

closedHi everyone – we have been getting a lot of enquiries regarding new members joining the club.

Unfortunately our waiting list is still closed at the moment in order to clear the backlog of children waiting for places.  We do promise we will give plenty of advance notification on both our website and facebook page when we plan to re-open the list for new names.  Sorry for any disappointment!!

We hope you understand that since we are not in a position to add any extra classes to our schedule at this time, places becoming available currently depends on other members leaving the club.  This is why progress on the list seems slow.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Happy New Year

We would like to wish all our members and friends a happy and healthy 2015.

Term 2 will begin this evening (Monday 5th January).  Gymnasts should attend training at their normal times with recreational classes resuming this coming Saturday 10th January.

Fees will be due this week for Term 2.

We are looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces back and ready to train hard in the new year!

Summer Training Camps:
On July 13th a group of 18 gymnasts and 7 coaches travelled to Largs in Scotland for our annual training camp.  As always the girls gained valuable training experience with all of them achieving some new skills and improving on their existing ones.  The coaches also benefitted greatly from this experience getting to interact with other coaches from UK clubs to share ideas and coaching methods.  It was a nice bonus that we got to also spend the week with the Commonwealth Team from the Turks and Caicos Islands who were preparing for the games at the Largs training centre.

RochelleOn 22nd August our Elite group travelled to Galway with coaches Evelyn and Rachel to take part in the Gymnastics Ireland camp.  The visiting coach was Rochelle Douglas from Europa Gymnastics, UK.  Rochelle coaches one of the top British junior gymnasts Catherine Lyons and she was on hand throughout the camp to offer her coaching expertise and knowledge along with plenty of new suggestions for training to take home with us.  The girls choreography sessions were led by guest choreographer Abigail Leonard who has a wealth of experience and works with a number of clubs in the UK.

Now we are ready to begin our new season which starts on 6th September.  We cant wait to see everyone back and ready to keep improving and enjoying the gym!!

Important Notice

The gym will be closed on Monday 4th August for the bank holiday.

Waiting List Closed

Unfortunately due to the very large number of requests to join our waiting list we are in a position where we have to close our list for a while.  Currently the demand for entry into the club far exceeds the number of places we can offer under the present class structure.  We are not in a position at the moment to increase our number of classes and therefore we see no option but to close the waiting list until such a time as we can offer more classes and reduce the waiting time for children on the list.  We do apologise to anyone who hoped to join the list.

Appenzeller Shield

Well done to the Old Bawn boys who competed at the Appenzeller Competition on 25th May.  They all performed excellently and did themselves proud.  Results for the club as follows:

Level 4 u12 Oisin Delaney – Gold
Level 3 u12 Alex Nugent – Gold
Level 2 u10 Niall Moran – Bronze
Level 2 u8 Conor Ward – Bronze, Matthew Shortt – 5th
Level 2 u6 Max Mulcahy – Silver

There is also a 2nd competition involved in this particular event for the Appenzeller Shield (combined total for floor, vault, parallel bar and high bar across all levels from level 3 up).  The boys also came out with great results in this as follows:
Alex Nugent – 2nd
Matthew Donohoe – 4th

(Not bad going from 19 competitors!)

Well done to all the lads!!
